Here Are Some Key Payroll Year End Dates To Remember.....

Managing payroll throughout the tax year involves several important deadlines that employers must follow.  Missing these dates can lead to penalties or compliance issues, so it’s important to understand what needs to happen and when.

In the UK, the tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April the following year, and employers must complete several payroll reporting and administrative tasks during this period.

Below is a summary of key dates to remember:

 

On or before final payday

Send your final Full Payment Submission (FPS) payroll report for the year.

5 April 2026

The 2025/2026 tax year ends.

From 6 April 2026

Update employee payroll records and ensure your payroll software is updated for the new tax year's rates and thresholds.

By 31 May 2026

Provide a P60 form to all employees who were on your payroll on 5 April 2026.

By 6 July 2026

Submit P11D (expenses and benefits) and P11D(b) (Class 1A NIC declaration) forms for expenses and benefits not processed through payroll.

By 19 July 2026

Pay Class 1A National Insurance contributions (NIC) on P11D benefits by post.

By 22 July 2026

Pay Class 1A National Insurance contributions (NIC) on P11D benefits electronically.
